Boardshorts Waist Size
Manufacturers use various ways to size their boardshorts, eg XS, S, M or 1, 2 , 3 or 42, 44, 46 etc. We have converted these to a recognised size to help you select the right short for you. Most women's boardshorts have rigid / fixed waist which has velcro and a lace up tie.

Boardshorts Length
Womens boardshorts come in various lengths, ranging from a 15 cm (super short shorts) to a 60 cm (three quarter length shorts) so bear this in mind when choosing. Below are rough examples of this.

Boardshorts Fit
There are several different types of Boardshorts fits. (Depending which brand / style of short)
- Billabong Boy Fit- A boardshort that is slightly more generous all over and is meant to be worn off the hips
- Regular Fit - The idea of a normal fit. ie not slim or baggy
- Slim Fit - A slightly tighter fit than standard, mainly on the shorter boardshorts

Fabrics
Most womens boardshorts are made from Polyester, we do have a few cotton boardshorts. We also have a few more technical boardies which are made from superstretch, 4-way stretch materials.
Length
With women's boardshorts you have generally got three different lengths the short shorts, which are what they say, they are great for on top of a bikini, mid length shorts which sit about half way down your thigh and the knee length shorts which come on or just above your knee.
Closure
Womens boardshorts either have buttons or velcro fastening, elastic waistbands (most of the short shorts feature this) or drawcords.
Pockets
Some boardies do feature pockets either side, back pockets or both. Some knee length shorts feature a pocket on leg. These can either be just a simple plain pocket with velcro/ button fastening, drainhole pockets or pockets with hooks for car key, IDcard or wax comb.
