Introducing Quiksilvers Explosive Technology Board shorts!

In 1980 Quiksilver released the ST Comp, the worlds first stretch board short designed specifically for performance surfing.  It was the dawn of the professional era, and Quiksilver recognized that a surfers boardshort could play a part in good surfing.  In the 30 years since Quiksilvers performance board shorts have evolved through designs, fabrics ............ and now science.

Quiksilvers Explosive boardshort has 3 main components:

The 1st component being the Explosive Technology compression garment (short) inside.  This inner compression short increases your awarness to muscle reactions, your control of movement increases, it helps to prevent injury and also improves your body positioning.  As well as all this the compression short also promotes blood flow back to the heart increasing lymphatic drainage and helping your muscles to recover. 

The 2nd component is on the inside of this compression short, there is compression taping inside and the reactor is scientifically placed around the muscles that drive surfing.  This taping acts like a slingshot , it aligns the muscles so they are placed perfectly for twisting and driving motions used whilst surfing.  This taping is also designed to centralize the surfers core over the sweet shot of their surfboard encouraging gravity where it should be.  The result of this is a greater amplitude and flair in surfers turns and more seamless transitions between them hence better surfing!!!

The 3rd component is the fabric used Quiksilver have used their Diamond Dobby DLX which has a fantastic 4 way stretch and is ultra light weight.  This fabric also dries 2 times faster than average boardshort material so gone are the days of hanging out in wet boardies.  Also the diamond pattern in the fabric reduces skin contact by 30% reducing rash.  The Explosives have a stretch hem giving you extra freedom of movement.  They are finished off with Quiks neofly -  a low profile neoprene fly closure utilizing their wet suit technology for ultimate comfort and a double up closure giving you two sizing options. 

As well as all these fantastic technical feature Quiksilvers Explosive have a great simple look, in solid black with this simple grey slate design, being generally a knee length short they have a welded pocket on the right leg, Quik logoing on the waist band and bottom of the left leg real nice and subtle.

These really are the most technical and high performing boardshorts ever created!
